
STILLWATER – Police in Stillwater found a man in possession of a gun after a woman reported he’d threatened to shoot her, police said.
Hayden P. Tompkins, 19, of Stillwater, was charged Monday with one count each of criminal possession of a firearm and criminal possession of stolen property, felonies, along with misdemeanor aggravated harassment.
The investigation began after a woman reported to police that Tompkins had threatened to shoot her and that he may be armed with a handgun, police said.
Police found Tompkins driving and stopped him. They found him in possession of a .40 caliber semi-automatic handgun, police said. He was taken into custody without incident.
Police later determined the gun to have been stolen from a residence in Mechanicville, police said.
Tompkins was arraigned and ordered held on $20,000 bail.
