Bishop Maginn graduate Battle joining Penn State men’s basketball as assistant coach

Former Bishop Maginn High School boys’ basketball star Talor Battle has joined the coaching ranks, and will serve this upcoming season as an assistant coach for the Penn State men’s basketball program, according to a press release issued Thursday from the school’s athletic department.

An alumnus of Penn State, Battle scored more than 2,000 points during his high school career, then scored more than 2,000 points during his college career. A 2011 graduate of Penn State, Battle remains the program’s all-time leading scorer with 2,213 points and helped lead Penn State to a 2009 National Invitation Tournament championship.

Battle played seven years of professional basketball before retiring in 2018. 

He joins head coach Patrick Chambers’ coaching staff.
