SARATOGA SPRINGS – An Albany woman stole more than $100,000 in rent checks meant for a Saratoga County business, state police said Thursday.
Wen M. Lu, 55, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of second-degree grand larceny, a felony.
She is accused of collecting the rent checks meant for the Saratoga County business and then depositing them into a bank account under a business name she created in order to hide the thefts, state police said.
Investigators discovered Lu was using the money to pay for personal expenses, state police said.
Lu was virtually arraigned and released to appear in court next month.
