An Amsterdam man has pleaded guilty to stabbing a security guard in an Albany bar last fall.
Eric Sumpter, 26, pleaded guilty to second-degree assault, a class D felony, in Albany County Court on Thursday, county Attorney P. David Soares announced on Friday.
Sumpter stabbed the guard on Nov. 30, 2019 at 3:33 a.m. inside a Lark Street bar, according to Soares, and threatened others with a knife.
The victim survived and Sumpter was apprehended nearby.
