WILTON – A Wilton man displayed what appeared to be a gun and demanded cash and drugs from someone in a car at his residence in Wilton last week, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

He then got away with a vape pen, officials said.

John J. Martino, 34, of Verde Place, Saratoga Springs, was arrested on one count of second-degree robbery, a felony, along with misdemeanor counts of second-degree menacing, petit larceny and child endangerment, misdemeanors.

Martino is accused of entering a vehicle at his residence, displaying what appeared to be a handgun and demanding cash and drugs from the victim, officials said.

He then physically took a vape pen from the victim’s hand and exited, officials said. The victim’s minor children were in the back seat.

Investigators later determined the item Martino displayed was a BB gun, officials said.

Martino was arraigned and released to pre-trial services.
