GLENVILLE — The Chamber of Schenectady County will confer its annual Good News Awards on Thursday, but not in person, thanks to some ongoing bad news — the pandemic.
The event will be live-streamed from River Stone Manor from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
The Good News Awards honor businesses, organizations and individuals who have shown exceptional growth or support for the community, or launched a unique product or service, or just been a notable success story.
The 2020 recipients are:
- Clarkson University’s Education Department;
- Clinton Street Mercantile;
- Jack’s Place, Jack Falvo III Foundation of Schenectady;
- JDog Junk Removal & Hauling LLC;
- Patrick’s Union Street Barbershop;
- Turf Tavern.
Additional honors will be conferred for milestone anniversaries:
- Union College, 225 years;
- Town of Glenville, 200 years;
- Town of Rotterdam, 200 years;
- Merriam Insurance Agency, 125 years;
- Capital District YMCA Glenville Family Branch, 50 years;
- New York State Chiropractic Association, 50 years.
The Chamber of Schenectady County is an affiliate of the Capital Region Chamber.
