ALBANY – A Colonie man was sentenced this week to a total of 80 years in federal prison in a child sexual exploitation case, federal prosecutors said.

Douglas Fountain, 31, was sentenced Tuesday after he pleaded guilty in August 2019 to 11 felony charges that included sexually exploiting a child, transporting child pornography and possessing child pornography, officials said.

Fountain admitted earlier that on eight occasions between July 2017 and July 2018, he used cell phones to create videos and images of a child engaging in sexually explicit conduct that included Fountain engaging in sexual acts with the minor, prosecutors said.

He then admitted to sharing some of the images online and to possessing images of child pornography on his laptop computers, officials said.

The case was investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and prosecuted by Assistant U.S. Attorney Alicia G. Suarez.
