Update: I-890 reopened to westbound traffic at around 11 a.m., according to Schenectady police.
A water main break near the Craig Street bridge Sunday morning forced city crews to temporarily shut down I-890 between Broadway and Michigan Avenue, according to a post from the Schenectady City Police Department shortly after 9 a.m. Sunday.
The waiter main break occured on the Mont Pleasant side of the bridge; the bridge was also closed down. City water department crews were on scene, according to the police.
“Officers hope to have the roadways reopened as soon as possible,” according to the message.
