ALBANY – Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) Board of Directors announced the departure Monday of CEO Mary Buszuwski in a press release.

Buszuwski will be stepping down from her position at the end of January 2021. The board has partnered with Evergreen Executive Source to identify candidates and advise on the selection of the next CEO.

“Mary has been an integral member of our council and has provided exceptional leadership to GSNENY during her time as CEO. I have the highest regard for her guidance during this challenging time and congratulate her on the many accomplishments she has made,” said GSNENY Board Chair, Dr. Kristen Navarette in the annoucement. “The board and I are committed to ensuring our council continues to grow and evolve and that GSNENY’s future remains strong for the girls and volunteers we serve.”

Buszuwski served as CEO for over six years.

“It has been a pleasure and an honor to lead such an extraordinary organization that values and perpetuates the potential of every girl to make a difference in the world,” Buszuwski said. “I am proud to be leaving behind a dedicated organization that I know will continue to uphold the mission of Girl Scouts.”
