Fulton Co. Sheriff: Two in custody after chase that began in Gloversville; Vehicle stolen from Albany

FULTON COUNTY – Two people were taken into custody after a chase Sunday morning, Fulton County Sheriff’s officials said.

The chase began in Gloversville after Gloversville Police sought to stop the vehicle for either no rear plate or an obstructed plate, officials said.

Johnstown Police, state police and Fulton County Sheriff’s deputies soon joined the pursuit. The chase was called off, but a sheriff’s corporal soon spotted it and two occupants fled the vehicle near County Highway 107 and Maloney Road, officials said.

Multiple officers responded and both the Fulton County Sheriff’s and Amsterdam Police K-9 units responded.

The two people who fled soon surrendered after one of the K-9 unites located them, officials said.

Police determined the vehicle had been stolen from Albany.

Both individuals were turned over to Gloversville Police.

The names of those taken into custody and any charges were not immediately available Sunday afternoon.
