SCHOHARIE COUNTY – A Schoharie County man has been arrested, accused of stalking a woman in 2017 after forensic evidence helped investigators build their case, state police said.
David J. Reinhart, 50, of Wright, was arrested Monday and charged with one count each of second-degree stalking and aggravated family offense, felonies. He was also charged with misdemeanor criminal contempt.
Reinhart is accused of stalking the woman in 2017 in violation of a court order and while having a history of similar instances. The incidents were reported then and all the charged actions stem from then, a state police spokeswoman said.
He allegedly did so in part by leaving items for the victim, the spokeswoman said. Tests on those items in the time since the initial report then came back and pointed to Reinhart, officials said.
Reinhart was process and released on an appearance ticket to appear in court later.
