High schools: Shaker boys’ golf edges Shenendehowa

Shaker clipped Shenendehowa 237-241 in a Suburban Council match Friday behind Chris McGarvey’s 35. Jack VanDeCar’s 37 was best for Shenendehowa.

CBA beat Columbia 257-289 behind Noah Caney’s 38. Zach Malmberg paced Columbia with a 42.

Ryan Hertik and Jake Terwilliger both carded a 39 to anchor Broadalbin-Perth’s 162-194 Foothills Council boys’ golf win over Johnstown.

Connor Canale added a 41 for the Patriots. Will Gerlach led Johnstown with a 43.

Matt Coons needed 22 strokes to negotiate six holes at Hillcrest Golf Club and lead Duanesburg past Middleburgh 10.5-4.5 in the Western Athletic Conference. John Bruno, Will Churchill and Tyler Mann topped the Knights with 29s.

The Johnstown girls edged Broadalbin-Perth 100-105 in Foothills play, with Claire Anderson and Mollie Kortz both firing a 50 for the Lady Bills. Mairead Marsden had a 50 for the Patriots.
