SCHENECTADY — Four Market 32/Price Chopper supermarkets across the Capital Region will begin a pilot program of free drive-thru COVID-19 testing next week.

The Schenectady-based supermarket chain announced the plan and began taking appointments Friday. Tests will be offered from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesdays starting next week at the drive-thru pharmacies in Shoppers World Plaza in Clifton Park, Fort Edward, Johnstown and Latham.

Registration for appointments is online at https://www.doineedacovid19test.com.

The tests will be self-administered by customers in their own vehicles; a pharmacist will supervise the test from the drive-thru window. Customers will be notified of the test results within three to five business days.

The program is being offered in partnership with eTrueNorth and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
