MAYFIELD – A drunk driver from Gloversville hit a garage and several vehicles Saturday in Mayfield, Fulton County Sheriff’s officials said.
Damien R. Gritzback, 25, of Montgomery Street, was arrested and charged with first-degree aggravated unlicensed operation, a felony, along with driving while intoxicated, resisting arrest and reckless driving, officials said.
Investigators determined that Gritzback drove under the influence of alcohol and then lost control of his vehicle on Progress Road and exited the roadway. He then hit a parked vehicle, crashed through the garage and stuck a motorcycle and an ATV parked inside, causing significant damage, officials said.
Deputies located Gritzback at the scene and interviewed him. He then resisted arrest as deputies took him into custody, officials said.
Gritzback was also cited for operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, failure to keep right, improper plates, operating a motor vehicle with no insurance and second-degree unlawful possession of marijuana, officials said.
Gritzback was processed and released to a sober third party. He is due to appear in court later.
