Schools: Saratoga Springs cross country sweeps past Burnt Hills

Competing Friday at Saratoga Spa State Park’s Peerless Pool Course, the Saratoga Springs cross country teams swept Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. The Saratoga Springs boys’ squad won 23-34, while the school’s girls’ team won 15-50.

In the girls’ race, Saratoga Springs’ top-seven runners finished with faster times than any of the Burnt Hills competitors. Junior Ella Kurto’s 17:42.4 was the race’s best mark, while teammates Mackenzie Hart and Sheridan Wheeler also finished with times faster than 18:00.0.

Saratoga Springs junior Ryan Bush won the boys’ race at 15:44.0. Burnt Hills junior Ryan Allison took second place at 15:52.8.

In Suburban Council boys’ soccer, CBA topped Saratoga Springs 2-1. Connor Dolin and Sumahri Stewart each scored for CBA.

Burnt Hills field hockey won 6-0 in its Suburban Council game against Shaker. Jocelyn Hild had two goals and an assist, Maddy Conneile added two goals, and Paige Thowe recorded one goal and two assists. In the shutout, Senja Matson had two saves.
