SCOTIA — Two Schenectady teenagers were arrested on Saturday after stealing a vehicle in Scotia and leading police on a chase that ended with a crash in Clifton Park, the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Department said.

A 15-year-old was arrested on a charge of third-degree criminal possession of stolen property, while a 17-year-old was arrested on charges of possession of stolen property, second-degree burglary, fourth-degree grand larceny, and several misdemeanor charges. Their names were not released because of their ages, deputies said.

The pair are accused of stealing a vehicle in the village of Scotia, driving into Saratoga County and leading deputies on a chase that ended with the Clifton Park crash. During the investigation, it was determined that the older suspect was responsible for a residential break-in in Charlton on Oct. 9 in which another vehicle was taken.

The younger suspect was released to his mother’s custody pending Family Court action, while the older was sent to the Capital District Secure Detention youth facility pending an appearance in Saratoga County Court.
