TOWN OF FLORIDA – A Colonie man was killed in a Friday afternoon Thruway crash, state police said.

State police identified the man who died as Brandon T. Zaremski, 35.

The crash happened just before 2:30 p.m. on the Thruway at mile marker 167.9 in the Town of Florida, state police said.

Zaremski was traveling eastbound when his car struck the rear of another car, state police said.

The other car spun out, but remained on the road. That driver, identified as Mary T. Going, 63, of Albany, was not injured, state police said.

Zaremski’s car then left the road, struck a culvert and overturned causing the roof of the vehicle to hit trees on the south side of the road.

Zaremski died at the scene, troopers said.

State Police were assisted on scene by the Fire Department and Thruway Traffic Safety.
