MOREAU – A Moreau man has been arrested on a felony charge, accused of throwing a puppy earlier this month and breaking its leg, state police said Wednesday.
Zachary D. Bowers, 26, of Moreau, was arrested Tuesday and charged with one count of aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony, state police said.
Troopers began investigating Oct. 13 after receiving a complaint accusing Bowers of throwing the 5-month-old puppy and injuring it, state police said.
The puppy did not belong to Bowers and has since been turned over to the SPCA, state police said.
Bowers was processed and released to appear in court next month.
