Police: Pedestrian struck and killed by SUV Thursday afternoon in Saratoga Springs

SARATOGA SPRINGS – A 46-year-old man was struck and killed by an SUV Thursday afternoon in Saratoga Springs, police said.

The crash happened at about 3:50 p.m. on Washington Street, just west of Buff Road, police said.

Police determined the man was walking alone westbound on the south side of Washington Street, which is also Route 29, when “for unknown reasons the male entered the eastbound lane” and was hit by the eastbound SUV.

The man, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were working Thursday evening to contact family.

The investigation remained ongoing.

The Saratoga Springs Fire Department also responded to the scene.
