SCOTIA — A local man has been arrested, accused of committing two burglaries in the village on Wednesday, Scotia Police Chief Daniel P. Harrigan said.

Robert F. Galante Jr., no age provided, of Scotia, faces two charges of second-degree burglary and one count of criminal trespassing.

Harrigan said detectives were able to identify the suspect through surveillance footage provided by the community, and Galante was taken into custody Friday evening at a motel in Schenectady after a search warrant was executed there. Galante is being held in the Schenectady County Jail pending arraignment.

“This case was brought to a quick and safe conclusion due to diligent hard work by all who contributed to this investigation,” Harrigan said.

The Glenville police, Schenectady police, state police and Schenectady County district attorney’s office also assisted in the investigation, Harrigan said.
