Belmont Stakes and Travers winner Tiz the Law drew the No. 2 post and is the 3-1 second choice on the morning line for the $6 million Breeders’ Cup at Keeneland in Lexington, Kentucky, on Saturday.

The Bob Baffert-trained Improbable, winner of the Whitney at Saratoga Race Course, is the 5-2 favorite and will break from post No. 8 in the 10-horse field.

Scheduled post time for the BC Classic is 5:13 p.m.

The Breeders’ Cup Future Stars Friday, featuring five races restricted to 2-year-olds, will be broadcast on NBCSN from 2-5:30 on Friday, and the Saturday Breeders’ Cup broadcast will take place from noon-2:30 on NBCSN and will switch over to NBC until 5:30.

Tiz the Law, owned by the Saratoga Springs-based Sackatoga Stable and trained by Barclay Tagg, hasn’t raced since finishing second to Authentic in the rescheduled Kentucky Derby on Sept. 5. Authentic is the 6-1 co-fourth choice in the BC Classic, behind stablemate Maximum Security, giving Baffert three of the 10 horses in the field.

Tiz the Law, who will be ridden by Manny Franco, has breezed twice over the Keeneland track.

Tagg told the BC media on Monday morning that his colt, who skipped the Oct. 3 Preakness to train up to the Breeders’ Cup, is coming into the race the right way.

“It’s a tough race. Tough race,” Tagg said. “It’s his first time against older horses, too.

“He looks a picture. His coat is shiny. He’s just a picture of health right now. I’m delighted with how he’s coming into it.”

The field for the BC Classic, in post-position order, with odds: Tacitus (20-1); Tiz the Law (3-1); By My Standards (10-1); Tom’s d’Etat (6-1); Title Ready (30-1); Higher Power (20-1); Global Campaign (20-1); Improbable (5-2); Authentic (6-1); Maximum Security (7-2).

The 37th annual Breeders’ Cup will be conducted with no fans in attendance because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

A total of 184 horses are entered in the 14 Breeders’ Cup races, including 37 who shipped in from overseas.

Trainer Chad Brown has 13 horses entered.

The star 3-year-old filly Swiss Skydiver, winner of the Alabama at Saratoga and the Preakness, had been cross-entered in the BC Classic and Distaff, but trainer Kenny McPeek opted to keep her against her own gender and run her in Saturday’s Distaff against the likes of Monomoy Girl.
