MONTGOMERY COUNTY – One woman from Glen and another from Fort Plain have been arrested on charges of welfare fraud in separate cases, Montgomery County Sheriff’s officials said Wednesday.
In one case, Heather M. Beebe, 34, of Glen, was arrested Oct. 14 and charged with one count of fourth-degree welfare fraud and two counts of first-degree offering a false instrument for filing, felonies.
Beebe is accused of filing applications for assistance with false information, officials said.
In the other case, Debra L. Fabregas, 66, of Fort Plain, was arrested Oct. 24 and charged with one count of fourth-degree welfare fraud and six counts of offering a false instrument for filing, felonies.
Fabregas is accused of also filing applications that contained false information, officials said.
Both Beebe and Fabregas were issued appearance tickets and released to appear in court later.
