BALLSTON SPA – The Ballston Spa Central School District has announced three new COVID-19 positives at two elementary schools, leading two full classrooms to have to quarantine.

The district reported Sunday it was notified by the Saratoga County Department of Public Health about two positives found at Wood Road Elementary and one at Malta Avenue Elementary.

One of the Wood Road positives is a staff member. The staff member will be quarantined for 14 days, but no additional actions were necessary, officials said.

The other Wood Road positive, however, required a full classroom to be quarantined through Nov. 18, officials said. The Malta Avenue positive also required a full classroom to be quarantined through Nov. 18, officials said.

The two classroom announcements did not specify whether the positives were students or a teacher.

In both cases, parents whose children were directly impacted were to be notified Sunday afternoon with the plan to move to fully remote learning during the quarantine.

All impacted areas have received additional cleaning and sanitizing, the district said.
