HALFMOON – A Halfmoon man hit woman with a belt and choked her in a domestic incident, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

William J. Pfeiffer, 43, of Westfield Way, was arrested Thursday and charged with second-degree assault, a felony, along with misdemeanor criminal obstruction of breathing, unlawful imprisonment and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, officials said.

Pfeiffer is accused of striking the woman with the belt, choking her and preventing her from leaving, officials said.

Pfeiffer was arraigned and released to pre-trial services through the Saratoga County Probation Department. An order of protection was also issued. He is to return to court later.
