CLIFTON PARK — Town officials Saturday evening were dealing with a large water main break on Carlton Road that had knocked out water service to the Country Knolls West subdivision and nearby areas.
“Carlton Road will be closed for an extensive period of time,” the town posted on its website a few hours after the afternoon break, which sent water streaming down the road near a narrow stone railroad overpass. “Clifton Park Water Authority personnel as well as law enforcement are on the scene.”
Those who live in the area were cautioned that they could lose water pressure, and once service is restored, there is the likelihood of boil water orders being issued. There will also be the possibility of discolored water, authority officials warned.
