SARATOGA SPRINGS – The Capital Region Thomas Edison Music Awards, scheduled for Dec. 6, have been postponed due to a rise in COVID-19 infections.

The live-broadcast show was set to include performances by local musicians and panel discussions.

“The health and welfare of our cast and crew is our priority,” said Jim Murphy, co-producer. “We will reschedule the show as soon as it safe to do so.”

Four local bands were slated to perform during the show. Jocelyn & Chris, Garland Nelson, Promise the Unbreakable™ and Marty Wendell were scheduled to play live from the Great Hall stage at Universal Preservation Hall in Saratoga Springs. Nelson was also set to serve as the event’s emcee.

Jocelyn & Chris lead all Eddies Music nominees with four nominations, including Solo/Duo Artist of the Year, Rock/Pop Art of the Year, Video of the Year and Album of the Year. Nelson was a two-time 2019 winner and Promise the Unbreakable™ was nominated for Hip Hop/Rap Artist of the Year in 2019 and 2020. Wendell is a 2020 nominee for Country/Bluegrass Artist of the Year.
