GLOVERSVILLE — Fulton County’s only hospital and the union representing many of its employees have ratified a new contract to replace the agreement that expired in 2019.

In a joint announcement, Nathan Littauer Hospital & Nursing Home and 1199SEIU United HealthCare Workers East called the deal fair and equitable, and said its timing was excellent as the community is still facing the COVID pandemic.

The contract is retroactive to July 1, 2019, and will continue through June 30, 2023. It provides annual raises to union members and, for certain job categories, base wage increases that are expected to improve employee recruitment.

Technical and service employees at Littauer are represented by 1199SEIU. The hospital and union said the vote Monday by 321 members was overwhelmingly in favor of ratification.
