Death investigation underway in Schenectady; Body found in wooded area, police say

SCHENECTADY – A person walking in a wooded area of Mont Pleasant discovered a body and now police are investigating the death and asking for the public’s help.

Investigators have yet to identify the person, police said early Wednesday evening.

The body was found at about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday in a wooded section near Seventh Avenue, police said.

It appears to be that of a male. Police also described it as in “stages of decomposition.”

“At this time detectives are conducting an investigation and ask anyone with information to contact the Tips Line at 518-788-6566,” police said in a release.
