MiSci closing temporarily beginning Dec. 9 as virus cases rise

SCHENECTADY — Due to the recent increase in regional and national cases of COVID-19, the Museum of Innovation and Science (miSci) will close temporarily starting Wednesday, Dec. 9, it was announced Thursday.

The museum, located at 15 Nott Terrace Heights, will announce a reopening date at a future time.

“The museum’s priority is to protect the health and safety of our visitors and staff,” read the announcement. “We are closely monitoring guidance from local government, public health officials, and the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.

“While the museum remains closed, we will continue to offer a variety of virtual learning opportunities to our community schools and libraries with the generous support of the Jane Golub STEM Fund.”

All museum members will have their memberships extended by the length of the temporary closure. Admission ticket purchases affected by the closure will be refunded.
