
COLONIE – A Queensbury man traveled to Colonie in an attempt to commit a sex act with a girl, but investigators were there waiting for him in sting, state police said.
Mark K. Laux, 40, of Queensbury, was arrested Wednesday and charged with second-degree attempted criminal sexual act, first-degree attempted disseminating indecent materials to minors and second-degree patronizing a person for prostitution, felonies.
He is accused of traveling to a location in Colonie to engage in oral sex with a person he believed to be under the age of 15. The person, however, was a state police investigator. He arrived at the location and was taken into custody, state police said.
Laux was issued an appearance ticket and released to appear in court later.
