WILTON – A report of an underage drinking party last month in Wilton is being investigated, including potential COVID positives as a result, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

No charges have been filed in connection with the case and the investigation has slowed for several reasons, officials said. But anyone with information is asked to contact investigators.

The sheriff’s office first received the report from Warren County officials Dec. 28. The report concerned a gathering from 10 days earlier, on Dec. 18, at a private residence in the Town of Wilton, officials said.

The sheriff’s office “was further advised that numerous positive COVID-19 cases of Glens Falls City Schools students could be traced back to the party, and that it may have involved underage drinking party,” officials said in a release Wednesday.

Members of the sheriff’s criminal investigations unit immediately started an investigation, officials said.

The initial report was that as many as 50 people were at the party, but the investigation concluded there were about 12 guests there, officials said.

The investigation remained open this week, but has been slowed by the late report of the party, that it occurred at a private residence and those involved declined to be interviewed, officials said.

Anyone with information on the party is asked to contact sheriff’s investigators at 518-885-6761.
