High schools: Damiano, Dallas power Saratoga Springs gymnastics past Guilderland

Sophia Damiano scored the all-around win, along with taking first in a pair of individual events in leading the Saratoga Springs’ gymnastics team in a 169.675-154.95 Suburban Council dual meet win on Sunday.

Damiano won the vault with a score of 9.5 and the uneven bars with an 8.7 en route to her all-around score of 36.575. Damiano was second behind teammate Ava Dallas in both the balance beam and the floor exercise. Dallas was second to Damiano in the vault and bars and finished second all-around by one-tenth of a point. Carly Ruschak was third on the bars, beam and floor for the Blue Streaks.

Vault — Damiano (SS), 9.5; Dallas (SS), 9.25; Wishart (SS), 8.4. Bars — Damiano, 8.7; Dallas, 8.4; Ruschak (SS), 7.325. Beam — Dallas, 9.4; Damiano, 9.025; Ruschak, 8.85. Floor — Dallas, 9.425; Damiano, 9.35; Ruschak, 9.05. All-Around — Damiano, 36.575; Dallas, 36.475; Ruschak, 33.425.
