SCHOHARIE COUNTY – A Troy man has been charged with rape in Schoharie County, state police said.
Kieondre Dickson, 28, of Troy, was arrested Friday on one count each of third-degree rape and third-degree criminal sexual act, felonies, and endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanor, troopers said.
Troopers arrested Dickson after receiving a report he engaged in sexual contact with a victim under the age of 17 in the Schoharie County town of Broome, state police said.
Dickson fled on foot prior to troopers’ arrival, but they located him a short time later. They interviewed him and charged him, officials said.
Troopers were assisted by members of the Schoharie County Child Protective Services.
Dickson was arraigned and ordered held on $1,500 bail. An order of protection was also issued, officials said.
