ALBANY — The UAlbany women’s basketball program will finally get to play a home game.

Both Great Danes basketball teams had their schedules altered Thursday for the weekend as a result of a positive COVID-19 test result within the Vermont women’s program.

For the UAlbany men’s team, the change is a slight one. The Great Danes will still play NJIT at SEFCU Arena on Saturday and Sunday, but both games will now start at 5 p.m.

Meanwhile, the UAlbany women’s team will no longer play at NJIT this weekend. Instead, as part of the America East Conference’s latest schedule reshuffling, head coach Colleen Mullen’s team will host Maine on Saturday and Sunday. Both games will tip off at noon.

The UAlbany men are 1-5, while the UAlbany women are 2-4 — and all six of those games were played on the road. The UAlbany women haven’t played since Dec. 22, but were able to start practicing Sunday after their latest pandemic-related pause.
