QUEENSBURY – A Ballston Spa man was killed in a Thursday evening three-vehicle crash on the Northway in Queensbury, state police said.

Jacob M. Ladouceur, 29, of Ballston Spa, was killed just before 6:30 p.m, state police said.

The preliminary investigation determined Ladouceur was traveling south when he changed lanes into the path of a tractor-trailer driven by Bruno Thibert, 26, of Quebec. Thibert was unable to avoid a collision and struck Ladouceur on the rear passenger side of his vehicle, troopers said.

Ladouceur then lost control of his vehicle and entered the far-right lane, where he was struck by a tractor-trailer driven by Vimalendran Velautham, 54, of Quebec.

Ladouceur’s vehicle then left the highway and overturned in a wooded area. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
