TOWN OF MOHWK – An Amsterdam woman stabbed a woman in the Town of Mohawk Thursday, Montgomery County Sheriff’s officials said Tuesday.
The victim was taken to Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville for stab wounds to her left chest and left leg, officials said.
Angelica M. Orengo, 45, of Amsterdam was charged with one count each of second-degree assault, a felony, and fourth-degree criminal possession of weapon, a misdemeanor.
Sheriff’s deputies were called to the Route 30A scene Thursday for a woman who had been stabbed. Investigators soon determined that Orengo had gotten into a fight with the victim at a residence there and had ultimately stabbed the victim twice with a knife, officials said.
Orengo was arraigned and released on her own recognizance to return to court later.
