High schools: Dean, King with big high school bowling performances

Delon Dean of Albany rolled a 300 game, and Colin King of Hoosick Falls put together a 764 triple, for two of the featured performances Thursday in Section II bowling.

Dean’s perfect game and his 692 triple came in a 5-0 Suburban Council loss to Niskayuna. Michael McNeil added a 245-670 for Albany, and Austin Haigh paced Niskayuna with a 236-654.

King had games of 266, 258 and 240 to anchor a 5-0 Wasaren League win over Mechanicville. Glenn Prairie topped Mechanicville with a 278-672.

Columbia got a 279-753 from Zack Bogholtz and a 255-725 from Eric Blostein in a 5-0 Suburban Council win over Troy.

Aiden Dietz had a 246-709 in Colonie’s 4-1 win over Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake. Derek Bellamy led the Spartans with a 234-663.

Four Saratoga Springs bowlers cracked 600, led by Chris Young with a 232-659, in a 5-0 win over CBA.

Schalmont beat La Salle in the Colonial Council 27.5-4.5 as David Squires authored a 754 triple, which included 267 single. Connor Stoliker delivered a 235-661 for the Sabres.

Schenectady beat Colonie 3-2 in a Suburban Council girls’ match behind Kara Bergman’s 258-617. Sage Rysedorph paced the Garnet Raiders with a 237-651.

Kianna Macapiniac of Mohonasen had a 231-613, and Marissa Phillips of Schalmont had a 216-608, in Colonial Council wins over Mechanicville and Maple Hill, respectively.

Ryan Eldred won the 50 free and 100 free, Ethan Rogowski took the 500 free and 100 fly, and both swam a leg on a first-place 200 free relay as part of Shenendehowa’s 100-86 Suburban Council boys’ swimming victory over Bethlehem. Bethlehem ace Max Kaback won the 200 individual medley and 100 back, and helped the Eagles prevail in the other two relays.

Phil Bianco won the 200 free and 100 fly and swam legs on two triumphant relays to lead CBA/Troy past Schenectady 60-34.
