TOWN OF AMSTERDAM – A home in the town of Amsterdam, just east of the city, burned in a fire Sunday afternoon.

No injuries were reported, according to information available on scene.

Firefighters were called to the home at 330 Chapman Drive just after 3 p.m. for a report of a fire.

Firefighters from Cranesville Fire Department arrived and worked to douse the blaze with the help of surrounding departments. Issues with frozen hydrants in the frigid temperatures hindered the response, according to information available.

Flames could be scene coming from the home’s windows, and both floors.

Cranesville was assisted at the scene by Beukendaal, West Glenville, Tribes Hill, the City of Amsterdam, Hagaman and Fort Johnson fire departments.
