High schools: Queensbury wins skiing team titles behind Guay, Jenkin

Queensbury skiers swept the team titles, with its girls group scoring a perfect 6, at the Lake George Nordic Invitational Saturday at Gore Mountain.

Raina Guay of Queensbury dominated the girls’ 6.6-kilometer race with a win in 26:39.2, and was followed by schoolmates Julia Keshima (29:45.7) and Kendra Ballard (30:00.2). Iris Wiedmann of team runner-up Shenendehowa was fourth (30:01.6).

The Queensbury boys won with eight points, led by a first-place showing from Lucas Jenkin (20:30.9), while Spartans Ben Jenkin (22:01.5) and Sam Rowley (23:12.9) took third and fourth, respectively. Philip Matthews of Shenendehowa was second (21:48.7).

The Hoosick Falls boys’ bowling team improved to 30-0 in the Wasaren League with a 5-0 win over Berlin.
