NISKAYUNA – A Schenectady man sent sexually explicit messages to a minor and has been arrested, Niskayuna police said Monday.
Alex Pacheco, 47, of Schenectady, was arrested on one count each of first-degree disseminating indecent material to minors, a felony, and misdemeanor endangering the welfare of a child, police said.
Police indicated they made the arrest Jan. 15 and announced it in a release Monday.
The investigation began as police received reports from parents of a juvenile that they had located sexually explicit messages on the child’s cell phone. After an investigation, detectives arrested Pacheco, police said.
Pacheco was arraigned and released to return to court later.
Investigators are not aware of any other victims, but asked in a release that if anyone is aware of other questionable contact with Pacheco to contact Niskayuna police via the Schenectady County dispatch center at 518-630-0911.
