
UAlbany women’s basketball freshman Kayla Cooper was named Monday the America East Conference Rookie of the Week.
Cooper scored a team-high 10 points in UAlbany’s loss Sunday at UMass Lowell. The freshman from Maryland averaged six points and five rebounds per game during UAlbany’s series split with UMass Lowell.
Cooper is the first UAlbany women’s basketball player to earn a conference honor this season.
UAlbany is next scheduled to play next weekend at Binghamton.
India Pagan, a Stony Brook senior, was named the conference’s player of the week.
