Troopers: South Glens Falls man charged with rape of child under age 11 in Saratoga County

WILTON – A South Glens Falls man has been arrested, accused of raping a child under the age of 11 in Saratoga County, state police said Tuesday.

David W. Lunt, 19, of South Glens Falls, was arrested and charged with first-degree rape, along with first-degree sexual abuse and possession and promotion of a sexual performance by a child,  felonies.

Lunt was arrested after an investigation that began with an online tip sent to the Internet Crimes Against Children Taskforce. Lunt is accused of possessing and promoting images of child sexual exploitation, state police said.

Investigators discovered the rape allegations while investigating the initial charges, state police said. Investigators found that Lund raped the child under the age of 11 in 2018, troopers said.

Lunt was arraigned in Wilton Town Court and ordered held on $50,000 bail.
