High schools: Bellamy, Zacub spark Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake boys’ bowling victory

Derek Bellamy started with a 276 single and closed with a 699 triple as part of Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake’s 4-1 Suburban Council boys’ bowling win over Shaker on Thursday.

Steve Zacub backed Bellamy with a 264-643, while Matt Heinze paced Shaker with a 247-622.

Averill Park topped Shaker 5-0 and Niskayuna 5-0 behind Joe Minehan’s 257-705 and Jacob Keller’s 246-665.

Five Columbia bowlers recorded 700s, including Zack Bogholtz with a 268-773, in a 5-0 win over Niskayuna. Columbia knocked down 4,318 pins. Kyle Smith had a 257-676 for Niskayuna.

Bogholtz fired a 300 when Columbia beat Guilderland on Wednesday.

Aiden Deitz put together a 269-731 in Colonie’s 5-0 win over CBA, and Ethan Bowers delivered a 278-713 in Saratoga Springs’ 5-0 win over Albany. Delon Dean had a 265-664 for Albany.

Matthew Rogers had a 256-663 to lift Mohonasen past Cobleskill-Richmondville 24-8 in the Colonial Council.

Kaitlyn Rose had a 227-590, Marissa Phillips had a 202-571, and Brooke Howlan added a 192-554 as Schalmont beat Mechanicville 28-4 in a Colonial Council girls’ bowling match.

Amy Chrzanowski had a 233-628 as Colonie beat Niskayuna 4-1 and lost to Schenectady 3-2 in the Suburban Council. Kiara Beehm had a 258-617 for Schenectady.
