
CLIFTON PARK – A man from Maine was arrested Thursday on felony weapons counts, accused of illegally possessing firearms at a Clifton Park motel, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.
Michael J. McLaughlin, 29, of West Enfield, Maine, was arrested early Thursday evening on two counts each of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon and three counts of third-degree criminal possession of a weapon, felonies, officials said.
Deputies initially responded to the La Quinta Inn and Suites on Route 9 in Clifton Park at about 5:20 p.m. for a report of someone walking around the motel with a firearm, officials said.
Deputies soon found the man, identified as McLaughlin, inside the motel and found him in possession of several weapons, officials said.
McLaughlin was arraigned and ordered held on $20,000 bail. He is to return to court later.
