Major Bowling: McGaffin (289-1,104), DiBell (300-804) are best

Billy McGaffin Jr. produced a 289 game during a 1,104 four-game series, Ryan Karabin slammed a 287-1,038, and Mike Piotrowski rolled a 279-1,012 in the Vitalo Classic Saturday night at Sportsman’s Bowl.

Meanwhile, in the Capital District All Star league Thursday night, also at Sportsman’s, Thomas DiBell rolled a perfect game during an 804 triple, Piotrowski ripped a 267-770 and Bob Tedesco  Jr. hammered a 289-765.

Chris Fawcett (280-1,003) and Steve Hallenbeck (276-1,002) also reached the 1,000 mark in the Vitalo Classic, where Tammy Sader collected her ninth career perfect game and Jay Diamond and Jeff Kallner also registered 300s. Diamond finished with a 980, while Kallner shot a 978. Bill Heaphy (976), David Sader (269-960), Earl Lawrence Jr. (268-958), Mark Derenzo (958) and Mike Smith (955) rounded out the leaders.

Other standouts in the All Star league included Jason Impellizzeri (279-742), Mike Guidarelli (269-728), Craig Taylor (240-728), Justin Carl (248-727), Jeff Kallner (269-724) and Mike O’Toole (267-722).
