The defending America East Conference-champion University at Albany women’s volleyball team was picked to win the conference title by the coaches in their preseason poll, it was announced Wednesday.
The Great Danes received four of seven first-place votes and earned 33 points. Hartford, UAlbany’s 2019 championship opponent, was second with 28 points and got the remaining three first-place votes.
Rounding out the poll were Stony Brook (27 points), New Hampshire (24 points), UMBC (17 points), Binghamton (10 points) and NJIT (eight points).
UAlbany is scheduled to begin its spring season Feb. 20 against Sacred Heart.
