Saratoga Sheriff: 15-year-old stabbed acquaintance in Hadley, charged with assault

HADLEY – A 15-year-old boy stabbed an acquaintance in Hadley three times, causing superficial injuries, Saratoga County Sheriff’s officials said.

The incident happened at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday during a domestic incident in Hadley, officials said. It also led to the arrest of a woman on a misdemeanor contempt count, officials said.

Deputies responded to the disturbance and found that the ten had stabbed the other person three times, causing the injuries described as superficial. The victim was taken for treatment and released.

The 15-year-old, who was not named due to his age, fled the scene on foot, but was located by deputies a short distance away and arrested.

He was charged with one count of second-degree assault and his case referred to the Saratoga County Family Court Youth Part.

Charged with misdemeanor second-degree criminal contempt as a result of the same call was April N. Tortorice, 39, of Hadley. She is accused of violating an order of protection during the incident, officials said.

Both Tortorice and the teen were arraigned and released to return to court later, Tortorice to Hadley Town Court, the teen to Family Court.
