The University at Albany baseball team was picked to finish fourth in the America East Preseason coaches’ poll, the conference announced Thursday.

The Great Danes earned 27 points.

Stony Brook, the 2019 regular-season and tournament champions, earned 46 points and six of a possible seven first-place votes. Binghamton and Hartford each earned 41 points and one first-place vote.

UMass Lowell was fifth with 24 points, followed by NJIT (20 points), UMBC (13 points) and Maine (12 points).

The Great Danes’ 2020 season was interrupted after 12 games, in which the team went 7-5, due to the emergence of the COVID-19 pandemic.

UAlbany’s first game is scheduled for March 5 at Fairleigh Dickinson.
