High schools: O’Hanlon powers Duanesburg to girls’ basketball victory

In a girls’ basketball game between Western Athletic Conference programs, Duanesburg won 74-32 Monday against Mekeel Christian Academy. 

Allison O’Hanlon had a triple-double with 24 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists in the victory, and Alex Moses had 15 points and nine steals.

Six different players scored at least six points, led by Elizabeth Prime’s eight, and Canajoharie played dominant defense in a 55-10 win over OESJ.

Fonda-Fultonville won 75-12 against Fort Plain. Lyndsay Lombardoni scored 15 points and Kyla Smith added 14.

Averill Park won 48-42 in Suburban Council girls’ basketball despite a game-high 16 points from Niskayuna’s Olivia Olsen. In victory, Amelia Wood and Anna Jankovic each had 15 points.

Julia Reedy scored 18 points in Galway’s 60-33 non-league win against Corinth. Ryan Ripepi added 17 points in the win, while Emma Spardaro scored 13.

In boys’ basketball, Canajoharie’s Robert Fairley scored 22 points, and the Cougars used a 23-13 surge in the fourth quarter to claim a 55-48 boys’ basketball victory over OESJ. Richie Tamsett added 12 points for Canajoharie, while Travis LaFountain scored a game-high 23 points for OESJ.

In a 38-28 win against Corinth, Braden Shader scored 17 points for Galway.

In a Foothills Council boys’ bowling matchup, Gloversville topped Queensbury 4-0. Adam Loveless registered a 257-707 to lead Gloversville.

In a 4-0 win for South Glens Falls against Johnstown, Jacob Hall’s 280-759 led the way, while Will Bickford registered a 246-708. Johnstown’s Mick Winton had a 277-606.

In another match completed Monday, South Glens Falls topped Amsterdam 4-0. Bickford led South Glens Falls with a 278-725, while Kai Brennan recorded a 262-749 for Amsterdam.
