A Cohoes woman was arrested Thursday by state police after they said she tried to cash a fake check at the Clifton Park Price Chopper.
Amanda Garay, 28, is charged with first-degree possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and petit larceny, a misdemeanor. State police said they found out Garay tried to cash a fake $457 check at Price Chopper after the check was rejected by the bank. Police said Garay was never employed by the company listed on the check.
